Hello everyone! I’m Alexandria- follower of Jesus, wife to Gavin, Pure Barre enthusiast, business professional, book worm, daydreamer, and lover of life. This is Alexandria’s Kitchen; a site designed to inspire you to use food to improve your body, mind, and soul. I believe that Life Should Taste Good, and my goal is to encourage you to use food to fuel your life.
These days, is seems like everyone and their mothers are starting blogs, right?! So what made me get mine started? Here’s a little bit of background.
I grew up in a family where food was always the star of the show; and I was surrounded by amazing cooks and bakers. As a child, my parents always had me try what was on my plate; I didn’t have to finish it, but at least give it a taste. Well, I almost always finished it. From then on, I’ve never been dubbed a picky eater, which is why I can respect a bite of Ben and Jerry’s as much as a brussels sprout.
Over the past few years, I’ve learned to listen to my body, and feed it what makes it feel good and function best. I’ve learned there’s a time for my beloved Ben and Jerry’s, but that time is not often. I’ve learned to love and respect food for what it is and what it can do, but not to idolize it for what it is not. Food can be your body’s greatest medicine, or its worst enemy. Taking what I’ve learned and how I now view food, I will use this site to share research, recipes, and some simple ideas that I hope you all enjoy!
Thanks for reading!
